Frank Alamo born Jean-François Grandin a French singer from the early 60’s would have celebrated his 71 years today but he died yesterday !
He was one of the “ yé-yé singers” we say in French because in all the transcriptions and translations from English or American songs the “yeah” were translated into “yé” why not ?
His best known song is “ Biche ô ma biche” an adaptation from “sweets for my sweet”. Well “ma biche” could be used as “my sweet” a cute name for a girlfriend indeed !
He was suffering from the “Charcot disease” we call it in France, which is Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) known as motor neurone disease or Lou Gehrig’s disease.
RIP… I was not in France while he was famous, but I do recall “biche, ma biche”… 71 is NOT that old nowadays…
Yes not that old indeed !
We were both, you not in France and me in France, babies when he became famous
