I’d like to be on those Australian beaches, too, as the Texan ones are not sooo nice and clean… or maybe down to Padre Island! 
I haven’t been to Australia yet, one of my family members has just returned (delighted!) from a 3 week-vacation in the Australian summer paradise”… 
I live close to South Padre but we do not go often, I use when I was a kid, a friend always says that south padre reminds him of Spain beaches don’t know why… I dying to go to Australia a New Zealand too. Well I love your post! abrazitos!
Doris, I liked Mustang island better than Padre island which did not remind me of Spain!
Btw, have you ever been to “old Europe” where your roots are?… 
On the way to Australia & NZ, what about a stop-over in Spain?
